'Family Holiday September 2010'

Ernest - UK
Review Submitted:September 3, 2010 Date of Stay: September 2010.

With 2 children aged 3 and 4 we returned to our favourite apartment where we moved our home in the UK to our holiday home in Lagos.
The boys just love running down to the Marina at night to see all the boats, and to get their ice cream sundaes (and our bottle of wine) as the sun sets.
We watched the Dolphin Safari boat come in and the bridge working to let the big cruisers into the Marina.
Some nights we'd carry on walking into the charming Old Town, and if we hadn't barbequed on the huge balcony at the apartment, we'd eat at one of the fabulous beach bars and the boys would run on the beach afterwards. The apartment has all you expect these days and more - we particularly love the black out blinds, the security arrangments, comfy beds and the knowledge that Chris is on the end of the phone if needed (we forgot the security code!). It's lovely and quiet, super-clean of course, as is the pool with the pristine garden. Then our next priority - the choice of beaches. Something for everyone, Huge long stretches, little coves, and when we had enough sun we walked down to the train station to give the boys a trip into Portimao. So perfect - you must try it!

Hi Chris, Thank you very much for renting us your lovely apartment. It was a perfect base for all of us and very clean. It was only 10 minutes walk to get to the marina and Old Town where places to eat were plentiful and good value.
One of the days we went to see the dolphins with Dizzy Dolphin the local company and they provided us with a great experience seeing this animals in the wild!!.Another day it was slide and splash at Lagoa!.

The apartment was wonderful with a large balcony and very good facilities for self catering which we did on a number of evenings. Supermarkets were plentiful locally and we recommend the local Fruit, Veg and Fish market on the seafront on the way to the Old Town very good quality and the sardines are splendid

Super 'Apartment Amelia', at Lagos

We visited this apartment at July. It was great: a very luxurious and well equipped apartment. You really love your holidays because you have not to wash your dishes ( there is a dishwasher) And your swimwear you can put in the washingmachine.
When you are with 6 persons, like us, then it is easy to have 2 bathrooms.
The balcony is large and with a nice view. Every day we sat at the balcony till midnight. The temperature is also in the evening very nice at July.
We were by car and the apartment had a garage so that you can park your car safely.
From the apartment you can walk to the Marina in about ten minutes ( there is a fairly steep road because the apartment lies on a hill.) and Lagos in about 15 minutes. The very beautiful beach Meia Praia you can reach on foot in about 15 minutes.
A must to do is to visit the dolfhins at sea. The dolphin safari is magnificent and you see the dolphins in there own environment.
And when you come back to the apartment you can use the gasbarbecue on the balcony. We did this several times and it was very cozy.
We can advise you to rent this apartment because it is very good. And Portugal (the Algarve) is a place to be. Nice people and a beautiful country.
We would like to come back.

'First Class Stay'

Although me and my partner frequently go to Algarve, this year was our first time to Lagos. It was also the very first trip for my mum and her husband outside Scandinavia. They were very impressed with it all. So much so that they would love to go back again next year. We were also joined by my younger sister and her boyfriend. Together our ages range from 23-60+.

We all really liked Lagos. It was quieter than Albufeira but had a nice buzz about it. There is plenty to do and see. We all had a wonderful time and the apartment was first class. It was well furnished and kitted out with everything we needed. Everyone especially loved the big balcony which was well used as we had plenty of our meals and socialised a lot out there.

As all of us like to keep fit we spent quite a lot of time at Boavista Golf Resort using the health club/spa. It is a short drive from the apartment and easy to find. We also went out on a great boat trip. The Marina is just a short walk away and a nice place to eat and drink, as is the Old Town. The beaches are second to none and the biggest one is again within walking distance. Lagos is easy to get around in both by foot and driving.

I would be delighted to stay at this apartment again.
And I would happily recommend it to anyone travelling to Lagos.

Owner's Response: It is my pleasure to ensure that guests have an excellent accommodation experience by providing modern and ideally situated properties close to all amenities, especially of course the beach, marina and town centre. 'Apartment Amelia' is an ideal location for which to enjoy a 'no car holiday' and is an opportunity to experience a totalling relaxing holiday in this wonderful Algarve town.
